Rio de Janeiro, 1945. The boy Paul, age 8, attends the side of parents, Marcus and Sophia, the celebrations for the end of World War 2. His best friend is Cabeção, with whom he shares the street with the Jesuit college in that study. Already in his youth, Paul has to deal with the frustration of the father for failing to realize the dream of flying a jet. He is close to Noel, his grandfather, a civil servant who initiates the bohemian nightlife of Rio. Deise soon falls for a mysterious young woman who possesses an air existentialist. The case does not work out between them and Paul is attending, with increasing attendance, the area of local prostitution. One day at the Eldorado Cabaret, Paul finds his father, sad and lonely. They have been sharing our admiration for Marilyn Young, only 16 years, forced by her mother to undress for customers. That's when Paul's rapprochement with his father and a love story suddenly cause a major upheaval in the lives of both.

Carla is abandoned by her husband while vacationing on a national park. There she finds herself stranded with a Norwegian backpacker and a former pop star.
